I recently came accross an online magazine called: The Ekphrastic Review. I found it by looking into an Etsy seller on Etsy, that does amazing work, only to find out that she is also the editor of an online magazine that deals with art that is inspired by other pieces of art. This person is called Lorette C. Luzajic and she is from Toronto, Canada.
As she creates amazing wall art with her creative mind for her brand Mixed-Up-Media, Lorette also edits The Ekphrastic Review magazine, and it is definitely a magazine you should be reading and following if you love art.
The range of what we can call ART is huge, and that’s exactly what Lorette is trying to say in her art magazine. As the magazine uses art to inspire it’s writers, they do not have a distinction on the type of art- giving every artist the honor they deserve. You’ll be able to find, amongst the pages of her magazine, paintings and poetry pieces inspired by Music, Theatre, Photography, other Poets, Sculptures and more!
More about Lorette from her magazine’s about section:
I studied journalism at Ryerson University in Toronto. Afterwards, I started the Idea Museum Collective of Consciousness. Our collective hosted art events in unusual sites: apartments, dive bars, at parties. We brought local DJs in, added drag shows, stand up comedy, and burlesque. I was the editor of the Idea Museum’s online magazine dedicated to art and creative ideas.
In the decade since, I have written books of poetry, fiction, and essays on artists and writers. Some of these include Fascinating Writers, Fascinating Artists, Fascinating People, Solace, Funny Stories About Depression, Kilodney Does Shakespeare, and The Astronaut’s Wife. My poetry, fiction, and essays have been published in over 100 print and online journals, blogs, and magazines. I write a regular column on another arts intersection called Wine and Art. My own artwork has been exhibited from Toronto to Belfast, including the Flying Pony Gallery, TAG Gallery, the Project Gallery, Goodfellas Gallery, Niagara Artists’ Centre, the Ritz Carlton, Durham Art Gallery, and the Royal Ontario Museum.
A lot of the posts in this amazing magazine are written by others, showing you artists being inspired by other artists, and giving you a different meaning for a painting (for example) than you might have seen. And that’s why art is so amazing- everyone has a different take on it!

So, thank you Lorette, for bringing all of this wonder together!
